Europeans have been producing kitchens, in factories (vs. carpenter’s shops) for about 100 years now.

The countries that have the largest amount of kitchen brands are: Italy and Germany. They probably produce about 90% of the kitchens sold in Europe. They also are the largest exporters of kitchens outside of Europe.

You will also find some large kitchen factories in England, France, Denmark, Sweden, Spain and other European countries.

On the right side of the page are the European kitchen companies, by country. If you know a kitchen company, that is not listed, please contact us and will gladly add it.

Hi Kitchenguy, I am contemplating between a Poggenpohl kitchen (Segmento range) or a Haecker Emotion range for back run with island from Modulnova (Fly Range). price wise they are close and I like the look of Modulnova Fly Range Island but am a bit concerned as to quality vs. Poggenpohl.
Would you be able to help/clarify? Thanks
Also, I do like V-Zug oven and combi/steam oven. How do you rate them vs. Gaggenau?

    Thanks again

    1. kitchenguy

MB – they are both good – if you like the look of the Modulnova, go for it!
Regarding the ovens – I’m sorry buit I dont have enough information about V-Zug oven and combi/steam oven, so I’m not confident to give advise…
      Good luck!

Thanks Kitchenguy. So in terms of Modulnova island with Haecker back run, you wouldn’t have any reservations compared to quality of Poggenpohl?
Poggenpohl is very good quality wise, does Modulnova compare similarly? Thanks for your help

        1. kitchenguy

MB – yes, that is correct. Poggenpohl is a very nice product, but being one of the largest companies in the world (see story about that), with lots of marketing, they create an impression that they are better than smaller companies, with lesser budgets. Modulnova and Haecker are just as good a quality, if not better…
          Good luck!

Is this blog still alive? I see last comments dates backI

      Many thanks for your hints

  2. IY

Hi kitchenguy, i’m now comparing few italy brands, Dada, Effeti, Euromobil. do you know their price range? which is the best in terms of price and quality?

    1. kitchenguy

IY – all are good quality products. Dada is higher-end and therefore will be more expensive tahn the other two, who are also nice, but a step down.
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

  3. Coco

Kitchenguy, can you give some comment on Stosa,Composit,Veneta & Lube?

    1. kitchenguy

Coco – these are all ‘price driven’ products. Composit is higher end than the other three.
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

    1. kitchenguy

Julie – can it be Piet Zwart…?
I have no idea, regarding the hob & cooker…

  5. nidhi

    hi,
I want to know if any of the italian or german brand for modular kitchen is willing to indian market….We are already into modular kitchens with Kohler…want to associate now with any of the italian or german brand

    1. kitchenguy

Nidhi – are you looking to resell Italian or German cabinets?
      kitchenguy

    2. Subrata

For which part of India ( CITY ) are you looking for.

    3. Pascal

      Hi nidhi,
I’ve see your post the last 06 January. If you live in India and you find a good Italian product and a very good prices, you can see NOVA CUCINA I’m consultant for this factory.

  6. Mary

    Dear Kitchen guy,
I live in Italy and am considering buying a Venete Cucine Kitchen so you understand my budget requirements from that. The finish says “shiny laminated plastic”. Is this the same as thermoplastic? What brands would you recommend in Italy without they being too pricy please? Your list is great but those kitchens are expensive.
    Thank you

    1. kitchenguy

Mary – “shiny laminated plastic” is just that – laminate. Thermofoil is not the same but if you like it, go for it as they are both the same quality. There are too many brands to list them, but if you’re on a budget – why not Venetta…?
      kitchenguy

      1. Mary

        Thank you kitchenguy,
This is a great site. I gleaned lots of information from it and will have a look at some higher end kitchens and work down until I get the quality/price I’m seeking

        1. kitchenguy

Mary – sounds like a good plan.
All the best and please keep us posted.
          Thanks,
          kitchenguy

  7. Maria

    Hi kitchen guy
Not sure if this is the correct place to ask a question?

Wanted to ask your view on schmidt kitchens ?very close to buying one from a new concept studio in London ,but as they are new to the uk ,I’m unsure where they sit. In they market, they seem high quality and they also boast to have 33% more storage than they competition ??

    Thanks
    Maria

    1. kitchenguy

Maria – Schmidt is a nice Medium price and quality kitchen. How they get 33% more storage than the competition, I’d LOVE to see! That will make them the best selling kitchen in the world!!! 🙂 Can they explain how…?
      kitchenguy

  8. Nabil geahchan

    Dear kitchenguy,
What re the cheapest italian companies ( price wise).
    Thanks a lot

    1. kitchenguy

Nabil – there are just to many companies in Italy, to answer a question like this – are you looking to buy a kitchen for your home, are you looking for a product to sell through your store (one at a time), are you looking for a product to stock or perhaps for a multi-unit development?
      kitchenguy

      1. Nabil Geahchan

        dear Kitchenguy,

i am looking for a italian kitchen company to sell through my store for multi unit developments, that s why i need to know which italian companies have the most competitive prices.
        thanks again

        1. kitchenguy

Nabil – some Italian companies have a higher price for single kitchens, but are very aggresive when it comes to multi-unit projects. Others, have a low price for single kitchens and almost the same for the multi-units, but they may also be of lower quality. Where are you located?
          kitchenguy

          1. Nabil Geahchan

            Dear kitchen guy,
            I am located in Lebanon.
The ones that have Low price for single kitchens and almost the same for the multi units are a good choice for us.
            Thanks.
            Nabil Geahchan

          2. kitchenguy

Nabil – try companies like Nolte, Alno, Scavolini, Aran, Venetta – they should all meet your criteria.
            Good luck,
            kitchenguy

  9. daniela cardona

hi, I am about to buy an Arrex kitchen, what are your views about this kitchen ( quality, strength, reputation of company)

    thanks daniela cardona

    1. kitchenguy

Daniela – Arrex is a medium price/quality product.
      kitchenguy

      1. irene

Do you have any idea if ARREX has a warranty on their products? What are the typical issues with their products? Thanks!!

        1. kitchenguy

Irene – I’m sure they do. just ask the store to present it to you.
          kitchenguy

  10. Caludia

    Dear Kitchen guy,
I am about to buy a kitchen and i liked 3 brans the GeG, Aran and Spar. In your opinon which brand is the best one.

    1. kitchenguy

Claudia – I’m assuming you meant GeD. If so, they are better than Aran, which is better than Spar.
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

  11. ALEX MERMIGAS

I am ready to buy a Bertazzoni/ La Germania kitchen.
I will like to have your opinion about the price / quality ratio.
    Thanks

    1. kitchenguy

Alex – they are both decent stoves, but I really can’t convey an opinion, w/o having more info…
      kitchenguy

  12. Brendan

Hi Kitchenguy – I’m renovating my flat in Hong Kong and came across your website. I’m trying to decide between Valcucine (and possibly their second line Demode) against Boffi. Just wondering if you have any thoughts on which is better in terms of quality and value for money.
    Many thanks, Brendan

    1. kitchenguy

Brendan – they are both premimium brands – go with the one you like better.
      kitchenguy

  13. Juan

Is Lino Alonso a good quality manufacturer ? around that price range would you recommend another brand instead ? I´m building a new house.

    1. kitchenguy

Juan – I don’t know much about it, as it is basically a local brand.
      Sorry,
      kitchenguy

  14. mangroveman

I liked the Record Cucina styling and price, but am concerned by your comment that they are ‘medium quality’ and ‘price driven’. Is that because they offer laminate products or is their wood medium too in your opinion? Who would you consider a step up?

    1. kitchenguy

Mangroveman – all brands offer laminates, wood veneers, etc. They are just a ‘price driven’ and therefore a ‘medium quality’ product, in terms of overall quality, R&D, etc.
There are many brands that will be considered a ‘step up’ – where are you located?
      kitchenguy

  15. gkeye0316

Thank you for all of your advice. I am looking to purchase either an Italian or German cabinet kitchen. My apartment is located in Florida, USA. I recently saw a beautiful lacquered wood kitchen showroom at Mia Cucina in Florida. While hearing the price was a bit of a surprise, ultimately I would like to purchase a modern European kitchen. There are so many names of companies…I don’t quite know where to begin. While I wish I could afford the ‘top’ manufacturers, I would appreciate your recommendation for a product which offers ‘good value.’

    1. kitchenguy

gkeye316 – The kitchen you saw was Record Cucine. It is a decent product, but there are many others in the area that are better and will be priced similarly. good value is very individual. Was Record too expensive?
      kitchenguy

  16. Bablu25

    Dear Kitchenguy,

How would you compare Nolte with Aran/Alno/Venetta cucine

    Thanks

    1. kitchenguy

Bablu25 – all five are very large, ‘price driven’ suppliers. It is not an one sentence answer…
      Sorry,
      kitchenguy

  17. M&M

    Hi Kitchenguy,
Between Varenna, Zampieri and Giemmegi which one is the best quality and value for money, is there a significant difference of standard between them?
    thanks!

    1. kitchenguy

M&M – the three are so different one from another, in terms of size, offerings, design, etc. that it will be impossoble to compare…
      Sorry,
      kitchenguy

  18. Luiz

    Hi Kitchenguy,
I’m trying to decide in between Mia Cucine and Snaidero. I would like to know if you have any thoughts on which one is better in terms of quality.
    Thanks.

    1. kitchenguy

Luiz – Mia Cucina is not a brand, but rather a store, selling Record Cucine. Snaidero is better.
      kitchenguy

      1. Luiz

        Hi Kitchenguy,
I’m talking about Mia.it (MIA CUCINE) they have a retail dealer in NY.
        Thanks.

        1. kitchenguy

Luiz – sorry, I didn’t realize they have a dealer in NY. I’d still go with Snaidero – you are better off with an established brand that will be around for the long run.
          kitchenguy

  19. zulekha

Hi, we live in Dubai. We are refurbishing our kitchen. We are pondering over POGGENPOHL, HACKER and WARENDORF. We intend to use MEILE in-built appliances. Which one would you recommend?

    Thanks!

    1. kitchenguy

Zulekha – these are all great brands – go with the one you like better.
Goo luck and please keep us posted,
      kitchenguy

  20. Chris

Hello, we are looking to get a mid range German built kitchen. At present, the favourites are Leicht and Hacker. Do you have an opinion on the best quality/value? or any others you think we should consider at this level? Also, do we have to go with a local designer or is there ant way to purchase direct from an importer? many thanks for your advice, cheers, Chris

    1. kitchenguy

chris – out of these two, I’d go for Hacker.
I seriously doubt you can purchase direct from an importer and why would you want to do that? The local dealer will give you the support and service you need.
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

  21. joy

Hi, kitchenguy I live in turkey and I decided to sell nolte prooducts in my shop but I saw today somebody thought that before me and they are underconsruction, a friend suggest me veneta cucine. Should I sell that? Is that also be successful as nolte? What do you think about that?

    1. kitchenguy

joy – My experience, Veneta is not as good as Nolte, in terms of timly deliveries, etc. It is a very big company however, so perhaps in your are they are better then in others…
      kitchenguy

  22. LO

Hey kitchenguy, can you recommend any movement system brands like Hettich, Grass, Salice, Blum,..? And do you know if there is any list where you can find out which Furniture fitting brands are in which kitchen?

    1. kitchenguy

LO – all of them are great and they all have various systems, at differennt levels.
      kitchenguy

  23. Antonella G.

    Dear Kitchenguy,
I’m looking to buy my kitchen. Can you tell me which kitchen I have to prefer for quality between Giemmegi and Arclinea?
    Thanks, by Antonella

  24. Dinh Ngoc Bao

    Hi kitchenguy,

I live in Asia and I am considering between SieMatic, Poggenpohl and Zeyko.

I got an offer from SieMatic’s S2. May I get your opinion about the brand SieMatic and how they are compared to poggenpohl or Zeyko? What would you prefer?

    Thank you so much

    1. kitchenguy

Dinh Ngoc Bao – all 3 are good quality products.
      kitchenguy

  25. JAYA

    HI Kitchenguy
I m from India. In my city Italian kitchen is a very new concept so there is not much awareness. There are only two brands here which are STOSA and ARAN. I m confused which one should i go for. As far as prices are concerned STOSA seems to be cheaper. Plz help.

    1. kitchenguy

Jaya – they are very similar – go with the one that you like better and the designer/dealer that semms more professional.
      kitchenguy

  26. kitchenguy

FS – yes, but where are you located?
    kitchenguy

  27. Hiya! I just discovered your internet site: european kitchen brands
    | european-kitchen-design.com when I was searching reddit.
com. It looks as though someone appreciated your site so much they decided to bookmark it.
I’ll certainly be coming back here more often.

  28. Mike

    Hi Kitchenguy,
We’re building a new house in Austin and are looking at several kitchen design companies including bulthaup, poggenpohl, boffi and arclinea. Our architect favors bulthaup, but we are not yet decided on the style the kitchen should be. Would you recommend one of these or any other that is available in the US?

    1. kitchenguy

Mike – architects love Bulthaup, because they have been marketing to them for years now. I would agree though, that it is better than the other 3 brands.
There are many great brands and most are available in the US – see My Top 20.
      kitchenguy

  29. Anthony

Can you give me any reviews on Arrex kitchen cabinets? Anything you have heard would help. We like them but have never heard of the company and can’t find reviews anywhere.

    Thanks

    1. kitchenguy

Anthony – good, large company, targetting the medium price market.
      kitchenguy

  30. Harry

I am confused by too many choices for a new kitchen. Poggenpohl is probably too expensive so I am looking too at nobilia, Schmidt, pronorm. Also, which is better neff or Siemens abd, is Miele worth the extra expense? Many thanks for your help. Harry

    1. kitchenguy

Harry – these are ‘big’ questions that I don’t have a quick answer for… You’ll need to spend some time researching these brands, local retailers, etc.
      kitchenguy

  31. Marion Gold

I’d like to warn customers away from Ballerina Kuchen. I have had very bad experience with them and their representatives in the UK. The latest is that the lacquer finish cabinet doors are chipping, Ballerina Head Office is ignoring all correspondence and the outlet I bought from have gone out of business and not honouring their obligations.

  32. mariano carvajal

    Hi Kitchenguy.

I would like to know your opinion.
We are from Costa Rica and we are about to buy a new kitchen and the 2 options are scavolinni crystal at $ 28,000 or the new line of miton, Tila at $ 25,000. both options in White cristal (glass).
    What do you prefer?
    Thanks a lot.

    1. kitchenguy

mariano – they are about equal, with probably a slight edge to Scavolini, thus explaining the 10% price difference… – go with the one you like better (product, designer, kitchen studio, etc.).
      Good luck,
      kitchenguy

  33. Mariano

    Thank you very much.

Do you know Arredo3 Italy Cucine? Its same quality than Scavollini or Miton?

    1. kitchenguy

Mariano – more or less they are.
      kitchenguy

  34. Henry Michael

    Hi Kitchenguy,
I work for a kitchen company located in South India. We are looking to tie up with a Spanish manufacturing company and bring their products to be showcased in India. Can you kindly advice a few names who offer good quality material in terms of both durability and finishes. Look forward to your early replay in this regard. Many thanks, Henry

    1. kitchenguy

Henry Michael – please look up the list of Spansih brands on the right side of the page. Most of them are exactly this – “good quality material in terms of both durability and finishes”

  36. Um_Muhannad

    Hi KithcenGuy

First of all THANK YOU. You are a nice person to setup this site to help others! Really appreciated.

Am from Oman, and in the process of budinling our home 🙂 and in the process of searching of affordable and yet good quality European kitchen. We aproached 2 European kitchen brands here; Rational from Germany and ARAN from Italy. Although i liked Rational more, look and quality wise. Their price was a bit too high. ARAN on the other hand is priced less but also not cheap! Just wanted to ask you, are these at the same quality standard or rational is better n that is why more expensive? Do you recommend going for ARAN ?

    thnxxx alot 🙂

    1. kitchenguy

Um_Muhannad – Rational (from the Snaidero group) is a better product than Aran, which is the reason it is more expensive – this is a classic case of “you get what you pay for…”
      I’d go with Rational!
      kitchenguy

  37. um_muhannad

    Thnx alot kitchen guy
    Hmmmm
U made us re think about it
Though oyr budget is too tight
But I sense frm ur advise that we beta pay more n go for rational …

    1. kitchenguy

if the difference is not too big – go for it!
      kitchenguy

  38. KTN

    Hi Kitchenguy
I live in Mexico. We are looking for a kitchen and feel lost between poggen pohl, allmini, comprex and miton. We have been told german kitchens are better than italian. Would like to know which of this brands have better quality
    Thank you

    1. kitchenguy

KTN – saying that German kitchens are no better than Italian ones is like saying that German soccer teams are better than Itlian ones… – both have lower, mid and high end products, that are more or less the same. Both are using German or Itlian hardware that is similar quality, many German brands use Italian doors and Italian brands use German hardware and accessories…
      kitchenguy

  39. Kin

    Hi kitchenguy,

I’m contemplating a choice between alno high laquer gloss kitchen versus a rational high laquer tio kitchen. Both seem similar to me but alno is coming in significantly cheaper even though when I ask around they are supposed to be around the same price range. Am I missing something? There seems to be a 10% difference in price difference on a similar product. Many thanks for any advice.

    Kin

    1. kitchenguy

kin – you are probably comparing Alno’s lower end brand (Pino or Impulse)…
      kitchenguy

  40. Deborah Chud

Hello, Kitchen Guy. Is there really a price difference among Poggenoohl, Siematic, Pedini, Leicht, and Arclinea.

    1. kitchenguy

Deborah – it all depends on the model and finish, but if all is equal, they should all be at the same ballpark.
      kitchenguy

  41. Sylvia

    Hi Kitchen Guy,
Please advise: Hacker, Leicht or Siematic?
    Thanks

    1. kitchenguy

Sylvia – value wise – Haecker.
      kitchenguy

  42. sourav

Hi kitchenguy….i m frm India and want to take italian kitchen franchise so that i can sell kitchens in my city.Ther is stosa already in my city.So accordin 2 u wat all brands should i approach that can compete with stosa and also hav comparable rates with stosa.
Also please give your opinion on europlak.

    1. kitchenguy

Sourav – not sure where exactly you are in India and what’s available in each city, but to stay at the sam price point, try Venetta Cucine, Aran, Lube & Home.
      kitchenguy

  43. Katrina

    Dear kitchen guy,

I live in China, Could you give me some advice about with brand is best fit for Chinese style Kitchen? My Budget is 20 grands USD. My house ‘s style is New Classic, maybe the kitchen should go with the style.

    Thanks!~~~

    1. kitchenguy

Katrina – not sure what you mean by “fit for Chinese style Kitchen” – aren’t you looking for a European kitchen…?
      kitchenguy

    2. kitchenguy

Katrina – I really can’t create such a study, on brands in China…
      Sorry,
      kitchenguy

  44. sunitha

    Dear Kitchen Guy,
Can u please give me your opinion of Veneta VS Gatto Kitchens. I am from India. TRying to make a decision and really stuck right now.
    Thank you,
    s

    1. kitchenguy

Sunita – they are very similar, with Gatto being slightly better.
      kitchenguy

  45. vijaykumar kushwaha

hey its a great site and i m thankful to know abt such big brands in kitchen.

just a small think need to as which kitchen has more demand whether german made or italian
i know its totally depend on company but then also…

  46. francesca

Do you know anything about the Acheo or Zecchinon lines? I am looking for a white kitchen, not high gloss, but I am worried about yellowing and scratching. The Acheo line looks more durable, and it looks like it may be easier to clean greasy splatters, fingerprints better. It is hard to compare these products as there are not a lot of showrooms. I am not sure if these cabinets are high priced or medium priced in a general sense for this level of brand. Any input would be great! Thanks in advance…

    1. kitchenguy

francesca – both are ‘price driven products’ and so the quality is not their main feature… Where are you located?
      kitchenguy

  47. francesca

Oh, I forgot to mention, we live in the US. We are trying to achieve the look of expensive cabinets, built in, but on a very limited budget. I fear that Ikea is not good quality. However in researching the Acheo cabinets, I cannot find any reviews to see if their quality is better or the same as say an Ikea. Thanks again!

    1. kitchenguy

francesca – It is better than IKEA!
      kitchenguy

  48. Lucy

    Hello Kitchen Guy,

On June 3rd Mike ask about bulthaup, poggenpohl, boffi and arclinea. Since I am looking at the same brands, could you ellaborate why ‘it is better then the other three’?

    1. kitchenguy

Lucy – sorry, I simply can’t get too elaborate and spend too much time on every answer, as I’m doing this voluntarily… 🙂
      kitchenguy

  49. Dukes

Hi Kitchenguy, we are considering redoing our kitchen and discovered that the companies we considered use high gloss materials from Niemann (Germany) and Senoplast (Austria). Could you advise on the quality and value between the two.

    1. kitchenguy

Dukes – they offer several high gloss materials and I’m not that familiar with their products, to be able to convey an opinion. Sorry…
      kitchenguy

  50. Tushar

Hi! i am a developer and looking for a comparision between the Snaidero and Miton kitchen, which is better in terms of the design and the performace of the kitchen.

    1. kitchenguy

Tushar – there is no comperiosn… Snaidero it a few levels above Miton…
      kitchenguy
